As part of the “Festival del Libro e del Viaggio” I will be interviewed by Sebastiani Gangemi on the topic “Ithaca and Ulysses between Myth and Reality”.

The conversation will be based on my “Itaca”, published seven years ago, which thanks to the recent renewed interest in the “Odyssey” is back on the road!

Is the present-day Ithaca really Ulysses’ island?

How does Homer describe Ithaca?

Are there real places which correspond with Homeric descriptions?

Are there archaeological remains which justify the identification with the island of the poem?

What mysteries still remain to be solved?

We’ll try and answer these and other fascinating questions in the course of the event.
